i am back [= yup, came back from chalet a few hours ago and i slept ;p

yesterday, meet with weilin at lot 1 the "This Fashion" there. then went down to have our super early lunch. then we saw, tian xiao, sherilyn, monica and shi hui. angeline last minute leg pain cannot come ]= so we went to downtown east together and ate our lunch at the shopping centre then saw benedict, pin hui, celeste, melody, darryl.

went to the chalet room then winston don't want to let us go in ;p put our bags then tian xiao, weilin and melody went to rent bicycle. i no mood to ride lah. ha. yup, then later tian xiao called me, we went to the sea there. sit at the stone. winston and daniel follow us cause they don't know how to ride bicycle =x anyway, then later weilin they all teach daniel and winston. daniel learnt like about 5 minutes then can ride liao but winston still cannot lor. i took abel's mountain bike. it is so high.

then, watch television programme. help abel's take the food. the plastic bag very heavy!

have BBQ [= hakim and the few guys start the fire. then, ya. BBQ the food. the food nice [= but the fried rice very cold. ha. went to hakim there help. zul cried because of the smoke. hakim went to have dinner. daniel is BBQing the chicken wing.

gary's birthday. so got cake for october and november babies [= daniel will get it from me ;p

watch the channel 8, 9 o'clock show. yea, funny. went to bath. blah... went to cheers with melody and daniel. we bought 6 bottles of mineral water, 1 bottle of ice lemon tea and 1 bottle of 1oo plus. the big big kind. then the cheers very crowded lor. we at least waited for 15 minutes then can pay.

went back, talk of a while then we decided to sleep and wake up at 3.30am. only 4 people slept lor. quite quiet cause benedict they all went to Mcdonald. but woke up at 2.30am. benedict laughter!melody, daniel and me eat sweet. abel still sleeping.

at about 5+ went to the beach they want to see the sun rise that is when daniel came up with a new theory. "No moon, no water." went back to the chalet wihout seeing anything. all of us sleep [=

eat breakfast, pack up then check out.

weilin they all went to ride bicycle after that. abel, daniel and me went home first. i want abel seat. can sleep. ha. daniel hit my head ]=

there is so many things that i regret in my life. well, i regret now for not taking pure geography. just study hard for the subjects that i chose. can see that daddy is not very happy that i did not chose design and technology.

anyway, today went for the post exam activity. the maths amazing race. fun? i don't know. just know that the DC is very noisy . yea, we received one clue the words scrambled one. we are like what is this ar? then gary at one glance then know that it is computer lab 4.

then also have the home room design thing. we anyhow design. ha. went to hakim there. went to resketch [got this word?] his drawing.

english lesson became lit. yup, ms goh is revising with us the street of the small night market. everyone is raising up their hands to answer the questions just for a chocolate. ha. anyway, the winner is benedict. euesbius's uncle ha.

history, ms ho gave us free time. but she is teaching history too.

maths, mr ang gave us back our maths paper. i get 15/20. all careless mistake leh. heartache.

science, luo lao shi came (: yup, gave us the worksheet that mr ng ask her to give us. revision. it is difficult lor. the few of us were like talking and only manage to finish the section A. then luo lao shi show us the answer. only a few of us were copying. gary were like talking, then luo lao shi scold him. ha.

homecon, watch the video. egg stuff. then she teach us the chapter 11 and 12. ok. havent do the workbook yet.

then, we shift class. from 2e2 to 2n2. i miss 2e2 people. i hate the colour of the WALL!!! make me have headache. the table got a lot of scratches lor. then i take my table from 2e2 [=

went for lunch then yup, walk to the bus stop with daryl. ha. i took 188. who ask me need to rush home for revision.

yea, first paper is the composition thing. the letter writing i wrote number 2. yea. first time i took such a long time doing the letter writing. then the composition, i wrote number 3. i am actually like number 3 or 4. 3 or 4? but at last i still take number 3. but it is still quite hard to write.

then break that time, abel test daryl and me the words. ok, some words i am still not familiar.

paper 2, the some of the vocab was out of the syllables. how do you expect me to write? but anyway, i am glad that abel test me the word (: the the comprehension is like very funny lor. the 3 marks one write until crazy but the 4 marks one write very little. ha.

after exam, actually want to find angeline one. very long didn't go home together liao. but she went missing. anyway, got something emergency so went home straight.

In late June of 1908, a fireball exploded above the remote Russian forests of Tunguska, Siberia, flattening more than 800 square miles of trees. Researchers think a meteor was responsible for the devastation, but neither its fragments nor any impact craters have been discovered.

Astronomers have been left to guess whether the object was an asteroid or a comet, and figuring out what it was would allow better modeling of potential future calamities.

Italian researchers now think they've found a smoking gun: The 164-foot-deep Lake Cheko, located just 5 miles northwest of the epicenter of destruction.

"When we looked at the bottom of the lake, we measured seismic waves reflecting off of something," said Giuseppe Longo, a physicist at the University of Bologna in Italy and co-author of the study. "Nobody has found this before. We can only explain that and the shape of the lake as a low-velocity impact crater."

Should the team turn up conclusive evidence of an asteroid or comet on a later expedition, when they obtain a deeper core sample beneath the lake, remaining mysteries surrounding the Tunguska event may be solved.

The findings are detailed in this month's online version of the journal Terra Nova.

Submerged evidence

During a 1999 expedition, Longo's team didn't plan to investigate Lake Cheko as an impact crater, but rather to look for meteoroid dust in its submerged sediments. While sonar-scanning the lake's topography, they were struck by its cone-like features.

"Expeditions in the 1960s concluded the lake was not an impact crater, but their technologies were limited," Longo said. With the advent of better sonar and computer technologies, he explained, the lake took shape.

Going a step further, Longo's team dove to the bottom and took 6-foot core samples, revealing fresh mud-like sediment on top of "chaotic deposits" beneath. Still, Longo explained the samples are inconclusive of a meteorite impact.

"To really find out if this is an impact crater," Long said, "we need a core sample 10 meters (33 feet) into the bottom" in order to investigate a spot where the team detected a "reflecting" anomaly with their seismic instruments. They think this could be where the ground was compacted by an impact or where part of the meteorite itself lays: The object, if found, could be more than 30 feet in diameter and weigh almost 1,700 tons-the weight of about 42 fully-loaded semi-trailers.

Caution for now

From a UFO crash to a wandering black hole, wild (and wildly unsupported) explanations for the Tunguska event have been proposed. Alan Harris, a planetary scientist at the Space Science Institute in Boulder, Colorado, said the proposal by Longo's team isn't one of them.

"I was impressed by their work and I don't think it's something you can wave off," said Harris, who was not involved in the research.

Longo and his team "are among the recognized authorities on Tunguska" in the world, Harris told SPACE.com. "It would be thrilling to dig up chunks of the meteor body, if they can manage to. It would lay the question to rest whether or not Tunguska was a comet or asteroid."

Some researchers, however, are less confident in the team's conclusions.

"We know from the entry physics that the largest and most energetic objects penetrate deepest," said David Morrison, an astronomer with NASA's Ames Research Center. That only a fragment of the main explosion reached the ground and made a relatively small crater, without creating a larger main crater, seems contradictory to Morrison.

Harris agreed that physics could work against Longo's explanation, but did note that similar events-with impact craters-have been documented all over the world.

"In 1947, the Russian Sikhote-Alin meteorite created 100 small craters. Some were 20 meters (66 feet) across," Harris said. A site in Poland also exists, he explained, where a large meteor exploded and created a series of small lakes. "If the fragment was traveling slowly enough, there's actually a good chance (Longo's team) will unearth some meteorite material," Harris said.

Longo's team plans to return to Lake Cheko next summer, close to the 100th anniversary of the Tunguska Event. "This is important work because we can make better conclusions about how cosmic bodies impact the Earth, and what they're made of," Longo said. "And it could help us find ways to protect our planet from future impacts of this kind."

i m really tired now. my eyes r closin. slept at 1 am. actually 12 like tat can sleep already. but smsin afiq (: is like WOW. he went vivo n i actually didnt c him. i also went to vivo yesterday :D maybe too big already. hais... actually went to a lot place yesterday. went to IKEA to buy bk self cause mummy cannt stand mi for throw my bks all over my rm :P then went to eat nearby. hong kong food lah but i don like eat veri little. actually goin hm 1 then aunt say go mount fabeur. (correct spellin???) there is totally nt a place for mi. feed to mosquito there. then at last decided to go to vivo. a lot ppl there lor. we heavent even shopped finish the first floor then the shoppin centre goin to close already. so we went to somewhere to eat icecream. i dunno where it is. somewhere veri veri veri dark. somewhere looks spooky. we even gt lost. dunno where the place is. then at last i mean really at LAST, we found it. i luv BEN & JERRY'S icecream!!! delicious. yummy... i feel like eatin again. hais... gt hm abt 1150. then check my hp gosh... 2 missed call n 3 msg. oops... sorri i didnt brin my hp out afiq. anyway i thought he is aslp then he told mi he just finish watchin movie at vivo. then ltr msg mi tat he was stuck at habour front with his cousin. hope u r not stuck at habour front now afiq.
